Charles DixonCommunity Governor
Charles Dixon
Charles is delighted to be serving as a local community governor. He has always found joy in volunteering for charitable causes, believing deeply in the value of giving back to others. Now, he's embracing a new opportunity to contribute as a community governor for a school supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Charles's journey of helping others began in Sierra Leone, shortly after completing his GCSE A-levels. Originally planning to work for just one year before attending university, he instead spent three fulfilling years working as a TV and video technician alongside his cousin. This experience sparked a lifelong commitment to service and technical problem-solving.
He later transitioned into a career in IT, where he has spent the past 35 years resolving computer and network issues for stakeholders. Charles takes great satisfaction in seeing the smiles on people's faces when he's able to help—it's what motivates him every day.
Born in Freetown, Sierra Leone, Charles moved to England during the country's 10-year civil war. He went on to complete both his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Computer Networks and Security, further strengthening his expertise and dedication to supporting others through technology and governance.
